Pharmacy Refill Requests
We encourage you to look ahead and ask for prescription refills during weekday office hours. The physicians on call do not provide routine medication refills after office hours, nor do they provide refills for pain, anxiety or sleep medications.
Check your medicine supply often and allow three business days for refills.
If you need refills from your mail-order pharmacy, please allow at least two weeks so that your medication supply won't run out before your refills arrive. Don't wait until the last minute.
If you need a refill, you may ask your pharmacy to direct a refill request electronically to our office, or leave a message with our secretary, who will relay the request to your doctor.
Please have the name, dose, and frequency of the medication you need refilled available, as well as verifying the name and location of your preferred pharmacy.
The nurse will call you back if the prescription is not renewable.
You must see a physician at least annually for the physician to renew your prescriptions.
Check with your pharmacy before you go there to be sure your prescription is ready.
For your convenience, we offer an on-site pharmacy with a low cost generic drug program similar to the programs offered at some of the large chain pharmacies.
The Amarillo Pharmaceutical Care Center's
TechCarxe program offers around 300 different medications at prices typically under $10 and nearly always under $20.
This price flexibility allows us to offer many medications not available on other generic drug programs, while still keeping them affordable and allowing you and your doctor more affordable options to improve your treatment.
Take a look at our
formulary for more price and availability information.
